Footsteps of The Masters: Journey to Babaji’s Cave
Aug 22, 2025One of the most sacred experiences a devotee can have is a visit to Babaji’s Cave in the hills of Dunagiri near Ranikhet where Lahiri Mahasaya first met Mahavatar Babaji. It is a place charged with a spiritual magnetism and a powerful presence of the Divine that is deeply felt by every sincere seeker who makes the journey.
It is said that near this cave surrounded by beautiful scenic forest, Lahiri remained in samadhi for 7 days after Babaji manifested a golden palace, where he gave Lahiri Mahasaya kriya initiation with the commission to spread Kriya Yoga to the world.
Such stories remind us that pilgrimage is a sacred form of travel, allowing us the opportunity to attune our consciousness to the Masters and our ray of light, ever deepening into Self-expansion. Just as Lahiri Mahasaya once knelt before Babaji and received his life’s mission, each of us is offered a renewal of our own spiritual purpose through the grace and blessings that radiate from eternity for all whom come with an open heart.
