About eight years ago at Ananda Village Swami Kriyananda dedicated a piece of land (called Sunset Ridge) for a temple site. I was part of the group. Right after Swamiji dug up a ceremonial piece of earth, we looked up to the sun and noticed something spectacular. I’d never seen it before (or since). It was a full circle rainbow around the circumference of the sun.

I had forgotten this experience until Nayaswami Jyotish shared during Swami Kriyananda’s birthday celebration (this past Saturday, May 19th) that Swami Kriyananda loved rainbows. And apparently, they loved him too!

To add to the circle of circle rainbows, Jyotish & Devi during their recent trip to India saw a full circle rainbow. Interestingly, their trip was related to a potential new temple and project in India. Coincidence or divine synchronicity?

It got me thinking about the meaning of a full circle rainbow around the sun. After searching online I stumbled upon this ancient American Indian Prophecy:

There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and creeds will put aside their differences. They will come together in love, joining hands in unification, to heal the Earth and all Her children. They will move over the Earth like a great Whirling Rainbow, bringing peace, understanding and healing everywhere they go. Many creatures thought to be extinct or mythical will resurface at this time; the great trees that perished will return almost overnight. All living things will flourish, drawing sustenance from the breast of our Mother, the Earth.

— “The Whirling Rainbow” Prophecy

The new Temple of Light that is being constructed at Ananda Village will honor all religions and the one common highway where all religions meet: Self-realization or we could say “Whirling Rainbow” consciousness.

Paramhansa Yogananda’s dedicates his book of Prayer Poems, Whispers from Eternity, similarly saying:

“And unto
All the multi-colored lamps of various true teachings,
In which shines the same one white flame of God—“

In addition to dedicating new temples, may we dedicate the temple of our souls to the “one white flame of God” which expresses itself as whirling rainbows in nature and united hearts in our souls.

Whispers from Eternity Dedication
by Paramhansa Yogananda

Dedicated unto

All the soul‑ temples of Christians, Moslems,
Buddhists, Hebrews, Hindus, and others,
Wherein the Cosmic Heart is throbbing equally, always

And unto
All the multi‑ colored lamps of various true teachings,
In which shines the same one white flame of God –

And unto
All churches, mosques, viharas, tabernacles,
and temples of the world
Wherein our own One Father dwells impartially in the fullness of His glory.
