Step 2 in The Path of Kriya Yoga

Prerequisite: Lessons in Meditation or the Raja Yoga series

The secret of success in life, and in meditation practice, is to be able to generate energy at will and direct it where you wish. 


We have three major goals for this 4-class series in-person and on Zoom:

  1. In this series, you will learn or review Yogananda’s Energization Exercises to gain control over your life-force. Yogananda taught that by a strong exertion of will power, coupled with a sensitive awareness of energy, you can tap into the infinite energy-source and invigorate the body and brain at will. These exercises help develop concentration, clarity of mind and calmness.
  2. This class is designed to review and support your meditation and sadhana practice as well. We will review Hong-Sau and various meditation support techniques. In each class we will meditate together.
  3. From the ancient traditions of yoga and their own realization Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda have outlined the nature of energy, how it functions in the universe, and how you can use it to further your own goals. We hope to share these concepts in such a way that they will be interesting, meaningful and accessible to you in your daily life.

Energy and Energization comprises Step 2 of the path of Kriya Yoga. An understanding and practice of Yogananda’s Energization Exercises are a prerequisite for initiation into Kriya Yoga. These exercises stand on their own as a powerful addition to your spiritual practice whether you choose to go on to Kriya initiation or not.
