Kriya Yoga Initiation
in Los Angeles at Ananda LA
Saturday, November 14th
6:00pm, Donation Basis
Kriya Yoga is the most advanced technique of meditation that Paramhansa Yogananda brought to the West. It is described beautifully in his Autobiography of a Yogi, in which he describes it as “the airplane route to God.”
Authorized Kriya Minister Bharat Cornell, one of Ananda’s longest-serving ministers, and his wife, Anandi, will lead this very special initiation ceremony. Everyone who has already Kriya through Ananda is invited. Additionally, those who do not yet have the Kriya technique but who have been approved by Dave Warner, our national Kriya Yoga, coordinator are also eligible to attend.
All Kriyabans in Southern California are strongly urged to attend this initiation. It is helpful to renew one’s Kriya vows on our regular basis, is possible. Having the Kriyaban community come together is a powerful experience.
If you do not currently have Kriya and have not been invited to this initiation but would like to be considered, please contact Sean or Brook at Ananda LA.
The Path to Kriya: An Overview
The path of Kriya Yoga involves several steps, two of which are immediately available to anyone. The first two steps are learning Yogananda’s Energization Exercises and the Hong-Sau technique of concentration. Once a person is familiar with Yogananda’s teachings and has some experience practicing these techniques, s/he may choose to take Discipleship Initiation. This is commitment to follow Yogananda's path to Self-realization. Once the student has taken Discipleship Initiation, s/he is eligible to learn the AUM technique of meditation. After about a year’s practice with these techniques, one may be eligible for Kriya Initiation.
If you believe that you may be eligible to receive Kriya Yoga, please contact Ananda Los Angeles at your first opportunity. We would be delighted to review your candidacy with you.
