Join Joseph Bharat Cornell, world-renowned nature educator and best selling author, for this rare opportunity to experience the majesty, power, and sheer joy of our natural world.

In this workshop, which will be held outdoors in an LA-area park, Cornell will lead us in a variety of activities designed to heighten our attunement towards and appreciation of nature. But this workshop is more than that. You will also learn and develop skills and approaches to general life that can be applied to a wide-variety of experiences, including assisting you in heightening your spiritual awareness. A proponent and developer of Flow Learning, through a carefully sequenced progression, you will learn how to awaken enthusiasm, focus your attention, directly experience nature without filters, and share your inspiration.

You will exit this workshop with a greater appreciation for nature, a deeper sense of connection to our world, and a greatly elevated spiritual consciousness. Never before has nature been so much fun, immediate, and dynamic!

This workshop is open to people of all ages and levels of fitness. No strenuous exercise is involved.

About Joseph Cornell

Joseph Cornell

Joseph Cornell is one the most inspiring nature educators in the world today. His first book, Sharing Nature with Children, sparked a worldwide revolution in nature education and became a classic. His six Sharing Nature Books have been translated into twenty languages and are used by educators and nature enthusiasts all over the world. Mr. Cornell’s second book, Listening to Nature, has inspired thousands of adults to deepen their relationship and experience of nature.

Mr. Cornell is the founder and director of Sharing Nature Worldwide, a popular, well-loved nature awareness program for children and adults. He is the honorary president of the Sharing Nature Japan an organization of 11,000 leaders and 224 regional associations. The Japanese Ministry of Education, in 1997, officially recognized Sharing Nature Japan (Nature Game Association) as a “public service corporation” – a rare designation given only to a few widely recognized service groups, such as the Boy Scouts and YMCA. Joseph frequently travels to work with groups in other countries as well as in the United States.

Listening to Nature

The National Association for Interpretation said of Mr. Cornell, “His expertise, irrepressible enthusiasm, blend of knowledge and warmth creates an atmosphere for learning that is very contagious.”

Joseph has lived for over thirty years in Ananda Village, near Nevada City, California. Joseph’s service at Ananda includes teaching and writing on meditation and other inspirational topics. He directs Ananda Meditation Support, which offers free online instruction and inspiration to thousands of people. Awards

Joseph Cornell has received many awards for his Sharing Nature books and programs. He received the prestigious Honorary Award from the National Association of Interpretation, "For his vast contribution to the field of natural science education...." The Hungarian Society for Environmental Education awarded him with an Honorary Membership for his "service as a role model for educators worldwide." And in 2001, he received an honorary doctoral degree from Unity College in Maine, "For his illustrious career as a nature educator and writer." In 2003, Cornell received the Countess Sonja-Bernadotte-Prize in Germany for his vast influence on environmental education in Central Europe.

TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit that unites the power of trees, people and technology to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles. Simply put, our work is about helping nature heal our cities.

We will meet at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Environmental Learning Center building. After parking your car (you enter directly into the parking lot) walk straight ahead to the cluster of buildings you will see.
